Quezon City, March 2006
Microsoft Philippines has chosen Innovative Training Works to deliver training on the Microsoft Office suite of applications for the staff of the House of Representatives last summer. The first part of the program, which lasted for almost two months, was held at the National Computer Center while the last part took place at the Batasan, both located in Quezon City .
The Train-the-Trainer program was
attended by 30 participants and had been a comprehensive training on Microsoft
Office suite of applications. Participants eventually took Microsoft
Office Specialist Expert exams to certify their skills. “We hope that this 30
will cascade the training to the thousands of Congress employees,” Mark Yambot,
corporate affairs director of Microsoft Philippines said in an
interview with
Manila Bulletin.
The last part of the program, which was held at the newly-opened ICT e-Learning
Center located at House's main building , helped 60 employees gain extra knowledge and skills to become more
productive and proficient with the use of
Microsoft Office applications, such as
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
This training program is a project of Microsoft Philippines in cooperation with
the Committee on Information Communications Technology, headed by Rep. Simeon L.
Kintanar, and other government agencies.
IT Works has been in the field of training people in computer technology for over 10 years and has been appointed by Certiport in 2000 to be an Authorized Exam Distributor for Microsoft Office Specialist program in the Philippines.
